dimples
(this poem is lovingly dedicated to my talented little partner in poetry, claire. this poem is to be sung to the tune of bubbly by one of claire's favorite artists, colbie caillat)
i’ve been so blessed for quite some time now
to know your friendship and your smile and how
every time i see your lovely face
my dimples pucker all over the place
it starts in my cheeks
and then it spreads to my teeth
i’ve even got dimples on the caps of my knees
i used to think it was fat
not my chub was all that
now i’m feelin’ such joy
now that i know
it’s so amazing how you tap and dance
and how you make that miss amanda prance
the way you teach us fun and silly games
and bestow the most endearing names
yeah, it starts in my cheeks
and then it spreads to my teeth
i’ve even got dimples on the caps of my knees
i used to think it was fat
not my chub was all that
now i’m feelin’ such joy
now that i know
oh, how do i thank you claire
princess of the ordinary summer bob bear?
i just...smile
and, it starts in my cheeks
then it spreads to my teeth
i’ve even got dimples on the caps of my knees
i used to think it was fat
not my chub was all that
now i’m feelin’ such joy
now that i know
i’ll be so thankful for these sweetest gifts
of your friendship for as long as long as i live
and when i’m old and gray i’ll still recall
the giggles and fun that seemed to start it all
and i’ll do a little jig
in my old-lady wig
add a twist and back-flip
with my artificial hip
then i’ll have to take a nap and a rest
from the heart of an old knightess
thank you potos
