tit for tat for two

(a shared writing with my friend sven)

ever have one of those early morning call times ~ only to get a call in the middle of the night to request you arrive on set even earlier than the sun ~ well that's not exactly what happened to my friend, sven...but he did get a call that made him miss the most important meal of the day and a hot morning beverage. following is the comical exchange which ensued.

janean: my girlfriend gave us a gift basket with a new tea ~ chocolate caramel chai ~ if you are in need of a rejuvenating beverage, i have some here and you're more than welcome to treat yourself...though i am not able to speak to the goodness of the flavor as i have not yet tasted it myself.

sven: sounds gross.

janean: [to be read to the tune of joni mitchell's both sides now]

stewin' and brewin' of tea so rare

steeps an elixir beyond compare

one to be savored by the pallet with care

i've looked at chai that way

but now my friend says it just sounds gross

he may be right but his tea outlook's morose

so we'll give it a try and raise a toast

if chai is here to stay

i've sipped the cup from both sides now

with caramel smile and chocolate frown

it's chai illusions that i recall

i really don't know chai at all

sven: [to be read in a fine irish brogue]

though not a tea-bagger per se,

i strive to try one thing per day.

if janean says it's good,

then it's understood

i will enjoy its sugary bouquet.
